18. What's the deposit, and how is the rest of the payment scheduled? Reading the answers: green flags vs. warning signs

  • Specific beats vague. A pro names the permit office, the shingle brand, the crew size, the warranty term. A problem contractor keeps it fuzzy — "we'll handle all that" — because specifics create accountability.
